I am an experienced tutor in mathematics. I was the head tutor in mathematics in the Southern Oregon University Mathematics and Science Learning Commons. Individuals could go here and receive additional science or math help. I tutored Physics, Biology, Chemistry (General), and mathematics of any level. I enjoy tutoring anything in mathematics, from Algebra/Algebra 1 to Differential Equations and further. My style of tutoring is based on a few steps. I have found these to be especially helpful. First, I start by gathering information from the students to find their strengths and weaknesses. After this, we work through issues to turn the weaknesses into strengths and at the same time keep reinforcing the strengths. At the onset, I work on comparable problems that match their homework to demonstrate approaches to solving the problems. We, then, will work together on a problem. Finally, I let them answer a different problem and then describe to me how they arrived at the answer. This shows me that they understand the information and will be able to confidently solve the problems on their own. I graduated cum laude from Southern Oregon University in Mathematics. I am pursuing a master's degree in Mathematics from San Diego State University.
