Experience
I have taught in many different capacities over the last seventeen years. For eight years I had the opportunity to home school our children. I have also taught Sunday school, private violin lessons, group music lessons, group art classes, and cooking lessons for 4-H. My primary goals as I teach are leading people to the resources that will enable them to gain a better understanding of the subject and encouraging their self-confidence as they work. I truly enjoy experiencing the end result along with the students; their satisfaction as they learn new concepts and gain a deeper understanding of other topics is encouraging. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. After I finish this degree, I intend to go on to a Master in Fine Arts with the goal of teaching at the post-secondary level. My primary area of study is sculpture with a secondary emphasis placed on digital media. Achieving academic success is of utmost importance to me; as a result, I have been included on the dean’s list at our university for the past two years. I endeavor to transmit this passion for learning to everyone I have the privilege of sharing my life with. The opportunity to tutor students would be wonderful in several ways. First, I simply love to teach. Second, I know that every moment I spend instructing enriches my understanding of the process and further develops my ability to teach. Third, I count it an honor to be involved in the lives of others. I would appreciate the privilege of contributing to the lives of other students.
